He is the founder member of Sambhav- a theatre group
of Delhi.This theatre group became a landmark phenomenon
in Modern Indian Theatre and registered its presence
in the research work of eminent art scholars.
Shifted
emphasis in films and television and cinema in 1985
and worked in various capacities as Writer, Director
and Scenographer. Worked for various sattelite channels
and doordarshan as a free-lance director,designer and
writer. Conceived and directed many popular programmes
which includes AAP KI ADALAT FOR ZEE TV, LEKHU
for doordarshan,and a number of telefilms, serials and
ad films.
He has conducted a number of theatre workshops throughout
the country and abroad. He has designed and directed
a number of plays for various institutions in different
languages.

He is known for his extraordinary
contribution in the field of stage lighting design and
teaching. He is the receipient of Chaman Lal Memorial
Award for his outstanding contribution in the field
of stage lighting and Patliputra Award for National
Contribution in theatre' He is also conferred SANGEET
NATAK AKADEMI award, the highest award in the field of
performing arts by Hon'ble President of India

Visited
many foreign countries in relation with theatre like
CHINA, JAPAN,AUSTRALIA, MAURITIUS, and particularly
conducted workshops for the students of MALDIVES, SRI
LANKA, and STATENS TEATERSKOOL, COPENHAGEN,DENMARK,
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, COLUMBIA where he directed the play Adhe Adhure in Espanol.
His

He
joined NSD as a faculty member in 1988 and is presently
working as Associate Professor.
