PREM SAMVAD
Aakar Kala Sangam "Prem Samvaad" is a presentation based on four stories of Munshi Prem Chand and is directed by Suresh Bhardwaj

The first story Brahm Ka Swang is a comic satire on the pseudo values of our society. These vary between a strictly followed caste system by the upper caste and behavioural hypocrisy of the rich. The idiosyncrasies of the woman are matched by the worldly wisdom of man; her simplicity with his guile. This short story is narrative in style. The story ends with ‘stree’ disillusioned by the falsities of the ‘purush’

This is followed by Lanchhan, which is woven around Devi, a housewife who enjoys her everyday conversation with Munnu Mehetar .

Munnu in turn tries to lure her into befriending Raza who is enamoured with her beauty. The story is very close to life as it emphasises a woman’s desire of appreciation and her vulnerability towards the men who under the garb of appreciation take advantage of her vanity.

Shyamkishore and Devi leads to an unending tragedy as they are left to their fate.

Amitabh  , Lokendra  & Bhavna in "PREM SAMVAD"

Manovritti is the comic relief in this series of stories. A lady is sleeping on a bench in a public park and is discovered in this state by a number of people. Their reactions to this seemingly unusual scene are hilarious, yet thought provoking.

Once again, conversation is the medium of performance.

The last story Suhag Ka Shav is a rendition of painful relationships. Subhadra loses her husband Keshav to Urmila. Why? One is unable to decipher. The intensity of feelings of both the women can be felt while they talk to each other or themselves. Subhadra is the ill-fated woman who is unable to find reasons for the betrayal. She speaks to herself most of the time trying to decide her next move but the next moment we see her doing the contrary. Strange are the ways of men…

ZOO STORY

This is an Hindi Adaption of Edward Albee's play Zoo Story by Ms. Seema Mittal for the group. The play was premiered in Delhi at Habitat centre and after that it is performed for various colleges in Delhi.

SAARI RAAT
In this play, Saari Raat, a man and a woman lose their way in the wilderness in a sleepless night, and seek shelter in a lonely house. An eerie old man, who claims to be the owner of the house, welcomes them.
Who is the solitary man in the desolate house? How old is he? Why does this man perturb the woman and not her husband? The night is the strange transition from a seemingly blissful marriage to a thrilling adventure, eventually culminating into a strange revelation in the life of the woman.

"SAARI RAAT"
The play sets one’s thinking about the plausibility of the institution of marriage without undermining its sanctity and necessity. The issue does not hold any bias and is relevant to both man and woman. As this question is appropriate in today’s world, it is thoughtfully put across by playwright Badal Sircar and is gracefully conveyed by the director Suresh Bhardwaj's vision and the skill of the artists.

AKS, as the abbreviation suggests, is endeavouring to present the reflections of life in a theatrical idiom, each time exploring and discovering a suitable form of presentation.
